Kelly and I presented to the patrons of Gilda’s Club last night here in Barrie.

We initiated the participants by demonstrating the 16 forms and the 1st Shibashi set. We then spent quite a bit of time talking about the health benefits one can derive from a serious internal arts practice and we even got everyone up to participate in a mini version of Shibashi set 1.

The participants seemed quite keen on our practices and one woman who is already doing...

I feel it is important to take a step back once in a while and take a look at your practice to try to objectively see where you are, what you have learned and where you want to go with your practice.

I often talk about the five beneficial paths of Taiji and catagorize them as follows:

	Physical

	Emotional

	Mental

	Energetic

	Spiritual

If you can objectively look at yourself and your practice you should gauge what areas you have made gains in...

Last Friday we held another Kyusho session and had a good turnout. We used this session as a review and played with most of the revival techniques as well as most of the martial points and healing points we have gone over so far.
At the end of the session we started employing the some of the points from a martial perspective and I saw that the students quickly learned that knowing where a point is, is different from knowing how to stike it in order to get the result intended.
Next...

We are starting Qigong Instructor training on May 5th and I am really looking forward to sharing all the information and experiences I have gained over the last 13 years.
It will be a lot of fun to have the time to really dig deep into the vast field of learning that is Qigong and explore the knowledge, thoughts and concepts with students that truly have a passion for this wonderful internal art form.
Session One (of 8) will be covering:
Sources of Qi
Qi - what is it? ("vital energy"...

	By: Jess O’Brien

All societies have had to grapple with the harsher side of human nature. Unacknowledged violence within will smolder, and conflict left unresolved will in time explode.

The martial arts developed for facing these raw emotions directly, forging and tempering their energy into useful and beautiful shapes. Frustrations are expressed openly, resolved, and transformed. Before lashing out against others, the martial artist has an outlet, a...

So our last poll results for the question "For me the best tai chi learning tool is"
Books - 15%
Video's - 37%
Seminars - 8%
My teacher - 29%
My own research - 11%

I see the results here mimicking todays technological surge. I see us being in the information age where teachings that were previously held close to the few are now being shared with the masses. I see this sharing as being linked to the throat chakra where as a species we are learning to communicate to each other. Right now...

Just wanted to touch base with everyone and fill you in on the details that are happening behind the scenes.

The Youtube channel is now up and running!

Learning a lesson is relatively easy (if taught well) but sometimes retaining it is difficult simply because of the amount of information required to be digested. So my goal is to have an online resource for the students that is easily accessable and acts as a library of knowledge that can be referenced over and over. So...

By: Beth Quist

What happens to our Qi if we eat a lot of processed foods? Processed foods usually includes more preservatives, chemicals, fats, fillers, and sugars than other foods. As a result, our body has to spend a lot of its energy and effort, not only to digest the food, but to break it down and get rid of what the body doesn’t need. Most of this additional work is done in the liver and the liver can’t process all of it. The result is Qi getting stuck and...

We had another great Kyusho study group session last night with a few new members signing up. We played with lung 8 and very quickly realized the power of having an interactive study group. Trying to strike lung 8 and getting a realease of the hand can be accomplished but we found it much easier and effective to treat it as a touch point. Especially if you manuever the body to gain the best access possible.
Kelly helped us with another healing point, this time heart 7 or the Spirit Gate....
